INDUCTION CEREMONY OF K-8W TRAINER AIRCRAFT IN BAF

Dhaka, 10 December: Honourable Prime Minister of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina handed over the "Induction Order" of K-8W Trainer Aircraft in a colorful ceremony held at Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu at Kurmitola, today Wednesday (10-12-2014). A smartly turned out parade in connection with the ceremony was arranged and Honourable Prime Minister reviewed the parade and took salute. The parade was led by Wing Commander Md Sharif Mustafa. During the parade she handed over the 'Induction Order' to the parade commander. While addressing the gathering Honourable Prime Minister expressed her optimism that the inclusion of these aircraft will raise BAF's training ability to world class and also make it safer and faster. She congratulated the pilots who ferried these aircraft from China via Myanmar in a 1400 km long difficult route. She expressed her strong belief that new generation technical equipment and better management will enhance air force's expertise and operational capabilities. She pledged that despite financial constraints, her government will provide all possible support to the air force. She declared that already her government has taken up the case for increasing flying pay and revise the overall life insurance policy to make it time befitting. She also said that members of BAF, representing Bangladesh in UN missions have brought enviable glory and pride for the nation and country. She reiterated her resolve to make BAF a technically sound, strong and capable air force through further modernization by the year 2021, the Golden Jubilee of our Independence. After the parade, Honourable Prime Minister witnessed a colourful flying display of the newly inducted K-8W Trainer Aircraft. Later, Honourable PM also witnessed the Static Display of newly inducted aircraft. On arrival at BAF Base Bangabandhu, the Honourable Prime Minister was cordially received by Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Mohammad Enamul Bari and Air Officer Commanding BAF Base Bangabandhu, Air Commodore M Obaidur Rahman. Ministers, Advisors, Ambassadors, Chief of Army & Naval Staff, Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division and High Military and civil officials attended the ceremony
